A mechanical keyboard is not the typical choice for writers but this one is so good that I can’t help myself from telling you “go get it”. You won’t regret it. Its durability is top notch and its keys feel actually much lighter than a typical mechanical keyboard, so you won’t suffer any pain even after long writing sessions.

Not a lot of downsides to be found on this high-quality keyboard but it’s fair to say it’s one of the most expensive keyboards on this list and it’s a bit bulky if you’re thinking about taking it with you on a trip.

The Crown lets you spin its wheel, and press and tap its touch-sensitive button to perform actions. On Windows 10 or macOS desktop, using it raises and lowers the volume level. Not impressed? Me neither.

However, within software and apps is where the Crown shines and offers you control. Imagine, for example, in Photoshop you can tap and turn the dial to select a color or adjust settings on your image. Or in a browser, just turn the dial and switch tabs. All that and more can be achieved through it.

Of course, it’s very comfortable for writing all day long and if you can make use of these extra features they can power up and increase your flow state while writing and switching and thinking all day long.

The Pro Type Ultra can be connected in any of three ways: wired, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth. Bluetooth is especially convenient because it can be connected to multiple devices (up to four) and it’s really easy to switch between them.

The Pro Type Ultra’s battery life is even better than that of the original Pro Type, with Bluetooth and Wireless mode lasting more than a week each on a single charge.
